Global Warming

Where I am, it's currently 9 degrees outside. Add wind chill and it feels like 1 degree. An hour and a half north, school is cancelled because little kids would get frostbite halfway through recess. Darned global warming.

Well, J. Christian...are you implying what I think you are?

I enjoy posting anonymously....but all is brought to the light at some point.

Also, I saw William Tucker speak two weeks ago. One thing I find interesting regarding "Global Warming" is that its advocates use temperature averages for the past 500,000 years. We cannot measure yesterday's temperature today, nor can we reverse-predict the weather correctly...how then are we going to be able to get average temperatures for a 500,000 year period....

Sounds like some $googols would have to be spent on something like that.

Chad, I am simply making an observation which is, at least to me, rather amusing.

Also, I have a link to Michael Crichton's essays on my blog. Crichton is a brilliant scientist-turned-writer who has had some interesting things to say about the theory of global warming.

Finally, government agencies like the EPA are farces conjured up to appease Washington lobbyists.

You're very mysterious, Thinker. Perhaps one day you'll reveal your secret identity...

Anyhow, you raise good points about the "evidence" for global warming. How can we come up with average temperatures from before records even existed? I think it illustrates the arrogance of post-modern "scientists."

I also want to revise something I said in my response to Chad. I mentioned essays by Michael Crichton -- Crichton does not address the issue of global warming in his essays but rather in a speech that is also available on his website. Check it out.
